Nicaragua Retreat
February 28th - March 7th, 2027
El Viejo, Nicaragua
About this experience
Join us for an all-inclusive 8 days, 7 nights yoga retreat in the wild northern coast of Nicaragua. This week is about slowing down, immersing yourself in yoga, spending time in nature, and enjoying good company in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
We'll practice yoga every day, share fresh, nourishing meals, spend plenty of time by the ocean, and leave room for adventure, rest, and whatever else you need most. Whether that is surfing, reading in a hammock, going to explore on a beach walk, or simply taking a nap after class, everything on this retreat is optional; you can fill your time as much or as little as you want.
During our time together we will get to go horseback riding, participate in a sea turtle release with a local non-profit, get to explore the nearby mangrove forest by boat, and go surfing together. There will also be a complimentary massage to help you fully arrive.
Expect invigorating yoga practices in the morning to wake up the body and mind, and enjoy a blend of yin and restorative yoga practices in the evenings to soothe the nervous system and prepare us for a restful sleep.
This retreat is open to every body and every level of experience, from first-timers to long-time practitioners. You don't need to be flexible or experienced, in traveling or yoga, just come as you are and we will take care of the rest!
If you're looking for a week to unplug, recharge, and experience genuine moments of connection, with both your fellow retreat guests and the people who call this special place home, we would love for you to join us.
Reserve your spot by October 1st and receive $100 off!

Our location
Tucked away in the rugged coast of Northern Nicaragua, Still Salty Escape is an eco-friendly retreat space, just steps away from the ocean. During our time here, we will have private access to the grounds including the pool, yoga shala, and meditation shala.
Still Salty is cherished for both its proximity to the ocean and its distance from bustling tourist towns. This offers us a special opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and tune in to the magic right in front of us.
Each cabaña is thoughtfully designed for comfort while honoring the natural environment. With ocean and garden views, you’ll wake to the sounds of wildlife and fall asleep to the rhythm of the waves.
With ingredients grown directly on the Still Salty Farm, we will enjoy three hearty vegetarian meals each day designed to nourish our bodies and support our well-being.

The closest airport is Managua (MGA) - Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport.
Transfers from/to MGA airport are not included in bookings, but we will happily help you coordinate your taxi directly with our venue and connect you to other participants traveling around the same time.

Yes, a visa is required, but it's straightforward. You do not need to apply in advance. A visa on arrival is available at Managua airport for most nationalities. Bring $20 USD in cash to pay for it at the airport. A valid passport is all you need beyond that.
If you are transiting through Panama, a Yellow Fever vaccine is mandatory for entry into Nicaragua.
Check your country's specific requirements before travel.
-
Yes. Nicaragua is one of the safest countries in Central America. Still Salty Escape is a private, gated property on a quiet remote coastline. Guests consistently describe feeling safe, peaceful, and completely at ease here.
-
Absolutely! Solo travelers are welcome and common on retreats. The community aspect of a retreat is one of its best features, and many guests arrive alone and leave with friends they stay in touch with long after.
Both private and shared spaces are great options for solo travelers. If you book a shared space, you will be paired with someone of the same gender-identification.
-
YES! No experience necessary, just an open heart and a curious mind.
Each yoga practice is intentionally designed to meet you where you are, giving you the space to modify based on your energy levels and experience. Sessions are led by an experienced instructor who has the knowledge to support you, whether is your first time on the mat or you’re looking to develop your practice.
-
Absolutely! Our venue, Still Salty Escapes, plans a hearty vegetarian menu prepared by local chefs. Organic ingredients are sourced directly from the Still Salty Farm and fill our plates for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In addition to vegan & vegetarian diets, we can accommodate most restrictions as long as you make them known when booking.
-
Here’s the deal, nobody books a yoga retreat planning to cancel. And life happens! So we highly recommend travel insurance.
If you choose to buy insurance, your policy should cover the activities of this retreat as well as unexpected cancellation, sickness, losses and all the usual risks. We suggest bringing a copy of the policy with you in case of an emergency.
-
The property is cash-only for all extras beyond what's included in your retreat. Bring USD (also accepted in Nicaraguan Córdobas).
There are no ATMs close by. Plan ahead and arrive with enough cash for the full duration of your stay, plus your $20 USD visa fee for the airport.
-
Nahualapa Bay (all levels, 7 min walk), Los Clavos (beginners, 15 min walk), Coco Loco (all levels, 20 min drive), The Point (intermediate/advanced, 20 min drive), and more.
